These high water content foods also have natural vitamins and minerals which work in synergy to internally supply your skin with the nutrients it needs to stay strong and healthy. This provides a double benefit when it comes to the skin since it helps the skin retain moisture AND supports the underlying structures that make skin firm and plump like collagen and other connective tissues which provide the foundation for youthful looking skin.

Eating a diet high in sodium, especially the kind found in processed foods, will dehydrate your skin, requiring you to drink more water and eat more high water content foods.  Reducing processed food intake and therefore your sodium intake will also help keep skin more moist and supple.

Caffeine is another thing to avoid since it has diuretic properties which increase the amount of water the body gets rid of on a daily basis, making the need for fluid replenishment more frequent.

Here is a list of some of the foods you can eat that contain high natural amounts of water (remember, the more they are cooked and processed, the less water they contain):

Tomatoes
Cucumbers
Watermelon
Grapefruit and other citrus fruits like oranges
Coconut water is a great one because it has a lot of water as well as natural electrolytes which help keep you hydrated longer
Berries
Lettuce and spinach
