Another trick I’ve found invaluable, especially in the winter, is to drink plenty of purified and preferably electrolyte-enhanced water. Water infused with electrolytes, which are really just minerals that help balance our body’s hydration, keeps your skin looking plump and hydrated all day long.
A similar effect can be had by drinking coconut water, which is naturally infused with electrolytes and several other vitamins and minerals. You may even see famous actresses and actors carrying this trendy drink around with them – it’s not just for the taste it’s really for the deep hydration it offers.
Carry some touch up makeup with you in your purse. I’ve found that my makeup frequently wears off throughout the day, most notably my eyeliner. I like to keep a defined eye throughout the day, so I carry around a spare eyeliner so I can reapply and smudge in the middle of the day.
Instead of looking drained and worn at the end of the day, I look refreshed and “new” as if I just applied my makeup and started my day. On the days I don’t reapply, I can definitely tell a difference at the end of the day in how alert I look.
When you have a few free moments, try hanging your head upside down for thirty seconds to a minute (or until comfortable for you), finger tips touching the floor. The reverse body position really helps get blood flow back to the brain, and also helps to flush your face and make you look less tired and more refreshed. It can also help to decompress your spine, which helps your posture and any back pain you might accumulate throughout the day.
These few simple tips can really help make a difference in how you look and feel throughout your day. I’m sure you have some tips of your own too!
