There’s a ground swell of uneasiness growing across the land. Some say everything is rosey. But others feel that something very bad is going to happen. Some even believe that things are already happening. Whatever camp you’re in, there’s mounting evidence to say that we should all take preparedness seriously. The first things we think of generally are things like storing food and water, and making sure that we have shelter. In fact, our very survival depends on these things. But there’s another type of preparedness that should be in the back of our minds, and that’s ‘beauty preparedness’.

Beauty prepping can be as simple as storing a few bars of soap, to knowing how to use coffee grounds as eye shadow. If things go south in our country, we could be out of supplies for weeks if not years. Now is the time to take stock of your knowledge and your pantry. Beauty items are often sitting on your pantry shelves in plain site. But if you don’t know how to use them, what good are they to you?

The All Natural Beauty Website believes in using completely natural ingredients as a lifestyle. They offer a full array of beauty recipes for those that want to ‘make it themselves’. The ANB is now taking it one step further in labelling certain recipes and articles as ‘Beauty Prepper Approved’. This means that the ingredients are very basic and will be easier to find if shopping sources become limited or nonexistent.

Right now we have an exciting opportunity to buy common items for our beauty (and wellness) needs. Certain items may not be available in the future. Prime examples of this would be essential oils, carrier oils, alcohol (for tincturing), herbs not able to be grown locally, honey, beeswax, and seaweed. Store these supplies safely away from light and heat. This will give them the best chance for a long shelf life. Be prepared by getting the ingredients you need now, and the knowlege that will help you later.
