Potatoes are great to use for eye issues such as eye bags and dark circles. Chilled raw potato helps reduce puffiness (potatoes are astringent, and the coldness helps too). Potatoes also contain catecholase, which is an enzyme that helps brighten and lighten the skin, which may improve some types of dark circles. Cold milk is an effective remedy in reducing puffiness. Milk is a natural source of lactic acid (a mild exfoliant), which helps brighten skin too. Chamomile is anti-inflammatory and a great under eye remedy for puffiness. Here are a few potato based eye remedies.
Super Simple Potato Eye Remedy
Ingredient:
– Potato
Instructions:
Cut a couple slices of raw potato. Refrigerate them for a few minutes until chilled (usually this takes 15-30 minutes. Potato slices turn brown quickly, so you may want to place them in cold water, while they are chilling. Pat the potatoes dry a little before use. Alternatively: chill them before slicing). Lie down, close your eyes, and place on your eyes for 15-20 minutes.
Potato Eye Mask:
Ingredients:
– Potato
– Organic Whole Milk, as needed
Instructions:
Chill a potato in the fridge for a few minutes. Grate a small amount of potato (a couple teaspoons worth). Add cold milk. Place the mix in either gauze, empty tea bags, or cut down a coffee filter to size. Lie down, close your eyes, and place the bags on your eyes for at least 15-20 minutes.
Vegan Potato Eye Mask:

Chamomile tea OR Chamomile herb and distilled water
Instructions:
